This summer, the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium will host our 3rd annual Black Girls Dream Conference in the Home of the Blues, Memphis, Tennessee. On June 9-10, 2023 at the Sheraton Memphis Downtown more than 1,300 Black - girls, gender-expansive youth, and women of all ages will attend this two-day event dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and cultivating their dreams. Youth Ambassadors
Youth Ambassadors participate in a year leadership development program that prepares youth leaders to learn how to: 1) match the issues in their schools and communities to the policies impacting the lives of Black girls, 2) promote the #BlackGirlJoy Challenge among other girls in their communities, and 3)review and score #BlackGirlJoy applications and select award winners. The #BlackGirlJoy Challenge welcomes girls, young women, and gender-expansive youth ages 12-24 who can describe their ideas for spreading JOY with their friends, families, and communities to apply for a $550 challenge award.
