The Joy and Justice Tour 2026 is a free, family-friendly festival-style celebration from Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium, touching down in nine cities across the South.

Join us in New Orleans, Louisiana!

Date: June 20, 2026

Time: 11am – 3pm

Location: Ashé Cultural Arts Center; 1712 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70113

Expect music, food trucks, and a day built for fun, alongside community resources, and a photo booth experience sponsored by Dove. Each stop also features nine activation zones designed to uplift, inform, and celebrate Black girls and women in their fullness: Arts & Culture, Beauty, Economic Empowerment, Health & Wellness, STEM, Advocacy & Justice, Sports, and Nutrition. This is where joy and justice live together, because joy is strategy. You belong here!

Founded by LaTosha Brown in 2017, Southern Black Girls was created to close a long-standing gap: Black girls, women, and femme identifying communities in the South have historically been underfunded and overlooked, despite carrying so much of the region’s promise. Southern Black Girls supports the nonprofit organizations serving them across 13 Southern states, channeling resources to the communities that need them most. To date, it has awarded more than $11.4 million to over 250 organizations, and over $600,000 in micro-grants to 1,000 girls through the #BlackGirlJoyChallenge, because if you change the life of a Black girl, you change the world!
